The phone call is the product
Most small businesses do not sell online. They sell on the phone, or at a table. So the job of the site is small and specific: make someone call, book, or walk in. Everything else is decoration, and decoration that slows the page down is costing you money.

I build for the worst realistic case: someone standing outside your door at 20:30 with one bar of signal, deciding between you and the place across the street. If the page has not painted by then, the decision gets made without you.
